Obituary: Vivian V. Lawton, 87, of Jefferson died of anemia Saturday at Greene County Medical Center Extended Care Unit. Services will be at
11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Jefferson Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawton had lived most of her life in the Jefferson area. She had been a salesclerk at Coast to Coast, a member of United Methodist Women and B.P.O Does.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Willis of Clive; a son, Gary Peacock of Rippey; a sister, Pauline Hougham of Perry; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, where the family will be present

Obituary: Betty Jean Thomas, 66, of Perry died of a heart attack Monday at McAllen (Texas) Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m.
Friday at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry, with burial at Dawson Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas, a homemaker, was born in Portland, Ore., and lived in Des Moines and Adel before moving to Perry in 1945. She was a member of Perry Does, Women of the Moose and First Christian Church.
Among survivors are her husband, Richard; a son, Scott Bandy of Indianola; a daughter, Deanna Brott of Marion; her mother, Pauline Hougham of Perry; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present at 7 p.m.
